It always starts with a single step

Taking those first baby steps

Some wise old dude once said that the journey of a thousand miles begins with one step.
Well for me, today, this marks the first step. It has finally arrived. Full Fat Living is alive. It exists in the real world, not just in my head. I’m finally out of the starting blocks and running. Over the coming weeks, months and hopefully, years, I’ll talk more about what this site is all about (a lot more!). No doubt things will change and evolve. I’ll find a groove, you and others like us will join in and we’ll really get going.
In essence though, in case you’re just too excited to wait (it’s like I’m reading your mind, right?), Full Fat Living is here to tell a story. My story, your story and the story of anyone else who wants to join the party. This is our story of pursuing a rich life, a happy life, a full fat life. I’m absolutely convinced that life is here to be LIVED and not endured, tolerated or wished away. The world is here just begging for our full fat selves to show up and give it some.
Sure, things get hard sometimes. Perhaps you’re struggling with finding your full fat self in your work right now. Perhaps the battle for you comes in your relationships. Wherever your battles are at the moment, you are not the only one. So many of us face the same (or at least incredibly similar) challenges and bouts of self doubt. Most of us have dreams or aspirations that we don’t really know how to accomplish. Most of us keep our dreams to ourselves, guarding them against the world. Throughout my 27 years of living so far I’ve found that in the wake of my silence, my hopes and dreams eventually fade away.
Well, for me that silence ends today. And if you choose to, it can end here for you too.
I saw this on twitter the other day (via @lawnrocket), and it’s been lingering in my head ever since:

Putting it on paper lets you start fixing it. If it stays in your head, a perfect idea, you’ll never share it with anyone.

It’s absolutely true. Putting ideas down on paper makes them real. They begin to take a physical form as we expose them to the gritty realities of life.
I’d go one step further though, and say that sharing ideas with someone else makes them more than real – it makes them come alive. This is the step where things really start to get exciting. Living ideas suddenly become way more possible. They find ways of fulfilling themselves. Living ideas help us to find ways to dent the universe.
It has been said that there is no time like the present. So, let’s get on with it. Let’s get some ideas down on paper (or on a new fangled digital version), and share them with the world. As this is the first post on Full Fat Living and all, let’s make the ideas biguns. In the comments below, I dare you to leave your answer to one of these questions:
What is your biggest hope or dream?
What are you struggling with right now?
I can’t wait to hear your answer.

Best of luck to you with your site! I agree with you that sharing your ideas with others is what makes it real! The power of your community is truly transformative as I have discovered for myself in the only 9 months since I launched my site/business. So, again, good luck and here’s to a full fat life!

Hey Chris! Congrats on the launch.

My biggest hope/dream right now is to make a living from my writing, sharing stories and ideas that help and inspire others to think for themselves and live their dreams.

Looking forward to following your journey.
